385 words | @amelia | Hope you like it! credit to nat of adoxography. | For some a history paper might prove easy. But not for someone who was just bought back from the dead a few weeks ago. Since that day Faye had struggled to adjust to this new world. Nearly getting ran over by these monstrous metal contraptions that people called 'cars'. So many things you no longer had to do. A machine that washed your clothing, no more of the scrubbing it by hand. Having to collect water from the river, or collect fire wood for your fire. Everything just seemed foreign to her at this point. Then came school. Since she once again looked like she had in her teen's taking the age of what her reincarnated twin was in this life, she had to go to school.... again. Though in the centuries she had been dead she most certainly didn't live the history, and thus had no idea. Not even a little. Since other children had at least heard of the historical event of 'World War 2.' Though when her tutor demanded a 1000 word paper on it she felt at a loss. So that was the day's events that lead her to the library, which she had been told held the knowledge that she needed. Pulling a bag over her shoulder she ascended the steps to the library and went inside. Inside the place was silent, a pin dropping could be heard. Though what daunted her more was that there were rows upon rows of different collections of books. Sighing she moved to the reception, "Afternoon Ma'am. I'm looking for your collection of books on the historical event World War 2 please?" She spoke clearly and politely. Perhaps two politely for someone her age of this era. The lady regarded her with curiosity though looked it up by pressing a few keys. Christ another new contraption.. Everything was so different Faye was starting to get overwhelmed. " Aisle fifteen, row twenty." The woman responded moments later. Faye gazed at her hoping to be shown. Though the lady made some hand gestures shooing her away from the desk. Faye scuttled off in the direction of the books gazing at the huge bookshelves, feeling just as lost as she had when she entered this place. |
