Vayne is pretty easy to get along with as long as you're not annoying the crap out of him or trying to kill him. If you're doing any of these things he will try his best to avoid you, and if he can't he'll most likely try to kill you or break you until you get the point he doesn't want to be bothered. To his friends he's kind and will go out of his way to help you, but to his enemies he will go out of his way to avoid you or get rid of you. Whichever one is better, though he doesn't like to have to clean up a murder mess so he'll probably just try very hard to stay away from you even if he could tear you apart with ease, he doesn't want to be bothered with the trouble that goes along with a missing person.
Vayne thinks very highly of himself and his looks, he can often appear to be a Narcissist but he isn't overly absorbed in himself. He thinks he can do what he wants without consequence, within reason of course. He knows very well the trouble certain things can cause such as murder and several other felonies. He's not very good with solid rules since enjoys personal freedoms above all else. He loves to mess around and play. He can be immature and cruel in this sense, but he never means to hurt anyone's feelings when he's joking. Hurting someone is only intentional when he's out to get you. If he picks on you it usually means he likes you or at least enjoys having you around. If he didn't then he would just ignore you or do his best to make your life a living hell.

Vayne was born at the end of the 12th century in Italy during a time of racism, warfare, and all around religious fear. His father had died fighting in the third crusade while his mother was pregnant. As he grew up his rich insane uncle acted as a father figure. That guy underneath the charm and godly exterior lived like more like a crazy roman emperor. He had a wild crush on his own brother's wife and eagerly stepped in as a father figure to their kid. That man taught the boy to indulge in any pleasure possible moral or immoral. He lived constantly under a man who drank himself drunk and made passes at his mother. That was the normal life in his household, the one that's still etched in his brain.
As he was growing into manhood his mother was raped by his uncle unknown to him and became pregnant. The people in the town began to take notice and knew it had to be out of wedlock. She tried to tell the authorities, but his uncle denied the whole thing claiming she was just a harlot. When a few townsfolk mysteriously died the church believed died the church believed it was a curse from God for the sin. They had his mother killed and the deaths seemed to stop. He met a beautiful woman while in mourning who fed on him then fed him her blood to fix him. She offered him a way to get revenge even if it meant losing his soul. He eagerly accepted and was killed.
Upon waking he found one of the people in the execution of his mother laying beside him bleeding. Vayne attacked and drank him completely dry before making his way out. He went back to his home and was invited in by his uncle. Vayne jumped and over powered him killing him. Before the night was out he killed everyone involved in his mothers death leaving the bodies in a pile in the town square. He even went as far as to nail the priest to the church walls in the form of the crucifix. He went to find the woman who turned him wondering where he had gone until she heard and smelled the bloodshed. When he found her regretted her decision to turn him, but found herself on the wrong end of the stake she intended to use on him.
Vayne spent several years in that town living on his uncle's large estate where he fed on half the town. When news of the deaths spread he convinced outsiders is was plague and he hadn't been struck with it. He left the town behind with another pile of bodies in his wake. He moved south towards Egypt where he was met with opposition. He was caught by someone feeding on their wife, but he cut the man's stomach open and let him bleed out after having a little taste. The rest of that area faced a similar fate when he refused to leave. He got bored of playing with the townsfolk leaving a few alive before he left.
A whole century was spent living in the Middle East and much of Africa until making his way to China. He lived with a few others who practiced Buddhism. He wouldn't kill them since they offered him a home. Instead he insisted they teach him what they were doing. He only knew of Islam and Christianity. They taught him many things and when he left he made sure they were repaid for their kindness.
He began a long trip through Russia back into Europe where he found his old family town resettled after so many centuries. He found a woman accused of magic whose daughter was crying out. He found she was in a similar situation that he was in as a young man. He went on a rampage and killed the accusers. Her mother though was still hung before he could do anything. He took the young girl with him when she finally agreed and wasn't afraid. She was only a child who witnessed so much slaughter in one moment. She agreed at first out of fear thinking he would kill her otherwise.
