we've lost it all and i am just a silhouette, a lifeless face you'll soon forget Marian groaned as her alarm clock went off. The bright, early morning Sun shone through the white blinds, and beat against the brunette's eyelids. Marian turned over on her side and hit the button to her alarm clock, turning it off, and her hazel eyes flashed open as she viewed the time. Five in the morning. Mari sighed, sitting upright and gracefully rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. She slung her legs over the side of the bed and pulled herself up and out of her large, comfortable queen bed, her bare feet greeted by the slick hardwood flooring of her manor. Marian yawned, stretching her arms out until she heard a satisfying 'pop!' and continued on her way to the large bathroom. She pulled open the shower door after stripping from her pajamas, and stepped inside. Mari turned on the shower and immediately yelped. "Ay-ay-ay-ay!" She exclaimed as the cold water greeted her. Marian jumped out of the shower and waited for it to turn warm. Once it did, she showered for about thirty minutes before stepping out again, and wrapping a fluffy, baby blue towel around her body, then another towel around her hair. From there, Mari went back into her bedroom and went to her dresser, where she pulled out a white and black dress and a red blazer to go over the outfit. Once was was dressed, she got some white socks and slipped them onto her feet, then grabbing her black boots and tugged them on. "I need some new shoes," Marian muttered. "I'll go by the thrift store on my lunch break." Mari said to herself. Marian then looked at the time. Six thirty. "Crap!" She exclaimed, grabbing the keys to her old Mercedes Benz. Mari ran outside after grabbing her phone, and she slid into her car. She shoved the keys into the ignition and turned. The engine sputtered and stalled. "No, no, no! Baby ple-ease!" Marian begged her car. "Come on!" She exclaimed, turning the key again and again. Then, finally, after about twenty minutes of trying, the engine roared to life. "YES!" Marian shouted. It took her about fifteen minutes to get to work, and by then, Mari was five minutes late. Her boss was waiting for her, tapping his foot on the hardwood floor. "You're late, Mari." He said. "I know, Rob, I know!" Marian said, grabbing her black apron that all Mystic Grill employees had to wear, tying it around her waist. "I'm sorry!" She exclaimed. She took a hair tie off of her wrist and tied her still-kinda-wet hair up into a messy bun. "It's the first time this month, so I'll let it slide, just... just get to work, Marian. Take Table 3." Marian's boss said, rolling his eyes. Mari nodded, and grabbed a pen and pocket notebook from behind the counter. She had a long day ahead. From there, Marian walked to Table 3 and put a bright smile onto her face. "Hi, my name is Marian and I'll be your server for today. Can I take your order?" She asked.
