Caroline is a very spunky, upbeat, glass-half-full kinda gal. She's a control freak, can be bossy at times, stubborn, but over all a very caring, and loving person. Before she was a vampire, Caroline Forbes was shallow, stubborn, controlling, and bossy, but as a vampire, she's those things, but so much better. She's the kind of girl who would die for her friends, someone who you'd be lucky to know, because she has a big, loving heart, but is burdened by carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders.

Caroline Bethany Forbes was born eighteen years ago to Bill Forbes and Sheriff Liz Forbes. Her mother, a workaholic, and her father never had a happy, working relationship. When her dad came out as gay, they divorced, and Caroline and her mother grew father apart. She was best friends with Elena Gilbert and Bonnie Bennett, two girls of which she had grown up with and were like sisters to her. But everything changed when the Salvatores came to town. Caroline immediately went after Stefan, but once he shot her down, she became upset with herself. About how she was never picked, that the guys just looked right past her. A few nights later, Caroline met Damon Salvatore, and going home with him became the worst mistake of her mortal life. She quickly became a human blood bag for Damon, but once she was free from him, Stefan compelled her to forget about it.
All she remembered was that Damon was an abusive jerk, and that she needed to stay away from him. From then, everything was fine for her until John Gilbert tried to kill every vampire in Mystic Falls, and when Matt Donavan and Tyler Lockwood were driving her home, it affected Tyler, a werewolf, as well, and they crashed, and Caroline collapsed. It was at the hospital that her life was changed forever. Damon fed Caroline his blood in order to heal her, but that night in her sleep, a certain Katherine Pierce snuck into her room and killed her, putting her into transition into becoming a vampire.
She fed, and completed her transition, and because of that her life was better for it. Bonnie, who was a witch, made her a daylight ring, and Stefan helped her to learn control, and soon Caroline Forbes became better at controlling the bloodlust than Stefan or Damon ever had. She was a better friend. A better person. But things changed between her and her mother when Liz found out about her. Because of Damon, Caroline and Liz grew closer, but her world was knocked out of kilter when the Mikaelsons came to town. She met Klaus, who she detested, but there was always something in Caroline that she liked about him. Klaus fancied her, and the more he tried to win her affections, the more she pushed him away, and denied it when her conscience told her that her feelings for Klaus Mikaelson were beginning to grow.
Now, between fighting feelings for Klaus, evading the Mikaelsons' wraths and helping her friends find Stefan for Elena, Caroline is desperately trying to help in keeping her friends, her mom, and her town safe from all harm.
