just one word from you and it's over

Elena lay in her bed at home, watching the clock that seemed to be ticking more slowly than it had ever in the past few months. She had tried to get some sleep, but the the thoughts of everything going on in her life at the moment had kept her awake. Even with Caroline and Bonnie trying to comfort her, she was a complete mess when it even came to the mention of Stefan. As for Damon, she had no choice but to be around him. Although, she was not sure what she would do if he wasn't around, because no one seemed to be as willing to help her as much as he was. However, Elena knew that was mainly down to the fact that Damon was trying to get her to admit her feelings for him, and maybe it was true that she felt something for him, but she couldn't admit it. The last thing Elena wanted to been as, was the same as Katherine. Elena refused to split the two brothers apart, purely because of what she felt, but then again, she didn't want to keep stringing Damon along. So now she was stuck in with this problem, that she had no idea how to solve while trying to find someone who really didn;t want to be found.

Almost reluctantly, Elena pushed the duvet off of her body, and stood up from her bed. Her hand reached to her phone, and saw a text from Damon telling her he had a new lead, and to come to the boarding house. When Damon had first found leads as to where Stefan could be, Elena had a shown a lot more excitement. Now she had learnt that getting her hopes up for something that would probably end up as a dead end, was only going to hurt her more. She quickly text back, telling Damon that she would be there soon, and the placed her phone back down on the desk she had picked it up from. She changed from her pajamas and into a casual outfit, not too bothered about what she was wearing. The thought of having to deal with Damon trying to get her to admit her feeling for him was more important than what she was wearing right now, along with the fact that they would probably be spending a lot of the time in a car when looking for Stefan so what she was wearing was pretty insignificant.

Elena pulled her hair up into a ponytail, and didn't bother with too much make up. She then made her way downstairs, said goodbye to Jeremy and then got into her car and made her way to the boarding house. The drive there was just filled with Elena worrying about if this lead was just going to be another dead end, or how Damon was going to force her to admit that she felt something for him, even thought Elena was not even sure if she did. At least, she didn't want too. When she pulled up next to the boarding house, Elena sighed and got out of the car and made her way over to the door. Entering the house, she walked into the centre of the room and glanced around. "Damon?" Elena called out, walking over to the other side of the room to look down a hallway to see if Damon was there. "Don't try and jump out and scare me or something..." Her voice trailed off towards the end, as all that responded was silence until she heard the increasing sound of footsteps.
